Grizzl-E Duo Connect Review
The Grizzl-E Duo Connect is the smart, updated version of Grizzl-E's dual-port charger. It charges two EVs from a single unit with WiFi app control, and its J1772 + NACS connectors work with every EV sold in North America.
The Math
Two separate chargers + two electrical installations = $1,200–$2,000+. One Grizzl-E Duo Connect + one installation = $1,100–$1,400. The savings are significant — you save on both equipment and the second electrical circuit, which is often the most expensive part of the job.
Smart Features
Unlike the original Grizzl-E Duo (discontinued), the Connect version adds WiFi connectivity with the Grizzl-E app. You can schedule charging, monitor energy usage, and check status remotely. The app also lets you prioritize one vehicle over the other if needed.
How Power Sharing Works
When one car is plugged in, it gets the full 40A (9.6 kW). When both are plugged in, the power is split — each gets about 20A (4.8 kW). At 4.8 kW per car, you're still adding roughly 15 miles of range per hour to each vehicle simultaneously. For most two-car households where both cars sit overnight for 8+ hours, that's 120+ miles added to each car — more than enough for typical daily driving.
Build Quality
The Duo Connect inherits Grizzl-E's signature tank-like build quality. NEMA 4 rated for full weather resistance, heavy-duty aluminum housing, and 25-foot cables on each connector. Both cables are longer than most single-charger competitors, which is important when two cars may be parked in different orientations.
Who It's Best For
Two-EV households, especially those with a mix of Tesla and non-Tesla vehicles. The dual J1772/NACS connectors mean no adapters needed for any car.
Verdict
The Grizzl-E Duo Connect is the smartest way to charge two EVs without the cost and complexity of two separate installations. While $900 is a significant upfront investment, it's considerably cheaper than buying and installing two individual chargers. The combination of J1772 and NACS connectors means it's future-proof for any vehicle combination. If you have two EVs now (or plan to soon), this is the most practical and economical solution.
